Teachers

Ms. Kristin Bond, B.A

"I worked abroad in Japan as an English teacher for one year and decided to return home to pursue a teaching career in Canada. There is nothing more satisfying than broadening the minds of children and young adults".

Ms. Sarah Fung, B.Sc

“Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. True scientists do not study facts from the textbook; instead, they discover knowledge through observations and experiments. I strive to help students understand the nature and beauty of science.”

Mr. Val Ivanov, M.Sc

“It just has happened recently, that the subjects I teach are the least favourable among the students.  My goal is to imitate those few great teachers that I had at my university, whose skills and dedication turned mathematics and physics into a fabulous adventurous story.”

Mrs. Zoya Lykova, B.A, professional artist.

“Van Gogh said, “If you want to learn how to draw, just draw.” Therefore in my class students are actively involved in processes such as painting still life, origami, clay, oil pastels, stained glass, and collages. These are just some of the areas that are incorporated in my teaching. Students lean best when their emotional needs are met. Every project I prepare, I try to convey emotions through the colour, line and design. I try to open the world of art to the students and help them appreciate it with their own eyes.”

Mrs. Nona Mazinani

‘I am grateful for having chosen a path that allows me to help people learn and gives me the ability to observe them grow. I profoundly enjoy teaching and cannot imagine doing anything else. Teaching, my chosen career, is the one thing that fulfils my love of learning in and outside of the classroom.”

Ms. Charlotte Mooney, B.A Honours

“I always work to ensure that students are active participants in their own learning. I strive to teach students how to learn, and to increase their motivation to learn, as well as teaching content.  I aim to help students to develop a love of learning which will continue beyond school.”

Ms. Nina Przulj, B.Sc Honours

“I strive to engage all students, irrespective of their learning potential, to pursue their professional interests and achieve their goals. I endeavor to help students develop into confident, motivated, and well-rounded individuals and guide a new generation into being productive and responsible members of our society.”

Mr. Michael Quick, B.A

"I believe in creating safe and open class that encourages students to share thoughts and ideas. I believe that this enables students to take an active role in the development of their learning. Furthermore, I believe this also helps the students to grow in areas that will help them in their lives after school."

Mrs. Tatsiana Prakopava
It is a great joy to discover a wonderful world of music together. Listening, analyzing, performing, and creating music makes our life beautiful. Enjoy music with us!

M-me Helene Semich

“French is an official language in Canada, and I believe it is important to learn it. Scientists say that bilingual and multilingual people think differently, and they are creative as well. I am convinced that the process of learning new languages should be natural and fun. Also, our students will be introduced into the magic of the Francophone world. Bon voyage!

Mr. James Vallentgoed

Teaching is about empowering students to become the problem solvers of the future.  The problem solvers of tomorrow have: a strong knowledge base, a keen technological proficiency, a discriminating eye to wade through the masses of information, and the courage to take risks and be creative.

Mrs. Galyna Volyanska

"I feel as though teaching is ten percent inspiration and ninety percent divine call. Without that, the patience, perseverance, and energy that the teaching requires of you would disappear with the shadow of the coming school year in September".
