Thursday, December 15
Students are preparing the Winter Concert which will take place at 11: 15 a.m. Parents who wish to attend the concert,  please, let us know, so that we can arrange enough seats for the visitors. You can send a note through the e-mail or call the office. Also, we welcome volunteer help on this day.
The school Winter Holiday Special Lunch starts at 12:15 p.m. We would like to ask every student to bring a dish to share. In advance we are thankful to the parents for their effort in helping to prepare this lunch. Also, students are preparing the gift exchange: Secret Santa.
The Lunch will be followed by Fun Parties for Kindergarten and Grades 1-3; and Grades 4 – 7 at 1:15 p.m. and for Grades 8 – 12 at 3:20 p.m. Grades 9 -12 students are welcome to stay, socialize, and dance until 4: 45 p.m. For the party the students are allowed to dress the way it suits their tastes.

Friday, December 16
This day is the last day of school before the holidays. All the lessons will be according to the schedule.
Grades 4 -7 students and teachers will go for a free skate at Robson Square from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The students will arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their time slot to allow for skate and helmet fitting. Skates and a helmet will be provided, although students may bring their own if they wish. We signed up the students for a 20 minute skating lesson, where basic skating skills and safety tips will be taught. After the lesson they can enjoy practicing their skating.
December 18, 2010 – January 2, 2012
Winter vacation starts on December 18, 2011 and finishes on January 2, 2012. The school reopens Tuesday, January 3, 2012.

After the Winter Break there will be changes in the schedule as we start skating lessons in January and swimming lessons in February until the Spring Break. The lessons are planned for Fridays, and the students are allowed to come to school dressed for these activities without their uniforms.

Reminder
Our teachers are happy to meet parents and discuss the progress of their sons/daughters. As teachers have many obligations during the day, please call the office to arrange for the appointment with the teacher you would like to meet.

Wishing you great holidays,

Dear Parent/Guardian,

On Friday, October 28 the school held Halloween festivities. We would like to thank all the parents who donated decorations and volunteered to help with the activities in the elementary school. Teachers and parents made this day memorable for the students. Thank you for your creativity and dedicated work!
Your active participation in the school life makes us feel like one family.

Reminder
The first Sunday of November Daylight Saving Time ends. The clocks are turned backward by one hour on the first Sunday in November. This is a reminder that the time will be changed on the 6st of November.

For some reason the amount of students who come late to school has increased recently. I understand that in our busy lives we all try to get our families ready and out the door on time because we know classes are disrupted when some people arrive late. As a community we have to take care of each other by starting together our classes. Let’s be more organized.

Sincerely,

Mrs. G. Volyanska
Principal
